The lakes of this gripping North-most part of India are famous for their serenity and mesmerizing beauty. These lakes offer a fascinating landscape that spellbinds the travellers and make it hard for them to return. The serenity and exquisiteness of Ladakh has made an inspiration for many nature poets. No nature admirer can stop himself from exploring this land of unsurpassed beauty.

Ladakh Lake Tour takes the traveller to the calm and alluring world of lakes far away from the hustle and bustle of life. The lakes like Pangong and Tsomoriri make the traveller lost in the nature's bounty. In addition, this tour also takes them to monasteries like Shey, Hemis and Thiksey.


  • Day 1 - Arrive Leh
  • On arrival at Leh airport, our representative will be there to meet you and transfer to the pre booked hotel/guest house for check in. Rest of the day is free for relax and acclimatisation as this is necessary for getting acclimatised at the high altitude. In the evening, one can visit the colourful market of Leh.

  • Day 2 - Leh – Shey – Thiksey – Hemis
  • Today we will be going for the sightseeing tour to some ancient monasteries of Leh. We will be visiting Shey Gompa, Thiksey Gompa and Hemis monastery.
    Later return back to the hotel/guest house for an Overnight.
    Shey Gompa is about 15 kms from Leh. It used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh. There are lots of Stupas and Gompas built around the palace. Shey Gompa was built in the beginning of 17th century AD by Deldan Namgyal. One of the major attractions in Shey is the 12m Shakyamuni Buddha statue located inside the Dresthang Gompa.
    Thiksey Gompa is located close to Shey and is about 17 kms from Leh. This monastery is considered to be one of the most beautiful monasteries in Ladakh and belongs to the Gelukspa order. Hemis monastery is about 45 kms south of Leh. It is one of the most famous and largest monasteries in Ladakh. This beautiful monastery belongs to the Drukpa order and was founded in the early 17′Th century. The setting is perfect with the monastery cradled in a lovely valley, surrounded by streams and fronted by long Mani walls.

  • Day 3 Leh – Pangong Lake (145 Kms Per Way)
  • Today after early breakfast, we will drive to Pangong Tso Lake. From Leh, we will reach Karu, an army camp on Leh – Manali road and then turn left and cross Changla Pass (17500 ft) to finally reach the Pangong Lake. Half of the lake's part comes under china and rest half in India.

  • Day 4 - Pangong Lake – Leh
  • In the morning after breakfast, we drive back to Leh the same route for Leh. On arrival at Leh, check in at the hotel. Evening is free for leisure or to visit the local market.

  • Day 5 - Leh – Likir – Alchi – Lamayuru (125 Kms Approx)
  • After breakfast in the morning, we will drive to Lamayuru to see the magnificent confluence of Zanskar and Indus River. En route, we will visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic hill, Likir Monastery and Alchi Monastery. In the evening, we will arrive at Lamayuru.

  • Day 6 - Lamayuru – Leh
  • Today after breakfast in the morning, we will visit the Lamayuru monastery and be a part of the morning religious ceremony. Here one can have a soothing and spiritual experience among those warm and friendly monks. On the way back to Leh, we can visit Basgo monastery, which is famous for its statue of Buddha.

  • Day 7 - Leh – Upshi – Tso Moriri (215 Kms/7-8 Hrs)
  • We will leave early in the morning today to drive along Indus River into the Rupshu Valley. It will be a nice wilderness drive up to Tsomoriri Lake. Arrive reaching Tsomoriri by late noon, check-in at the camp. In the evening relax and enjoy an overnight at the tented Camp in the Karzok village by lake side. Karzok is the only village and one of the most high altitude settlements in Ladakh.

  • Day 8 - Tso Moriri Lake – Tsokar Lake – Tanglang La Pass – Leh
  • After breakfast in the morning, we will drive to reach Tsokar via Puga by covering 75 km long stretch in about 3-4 hours. Tsokar Lake (4485 m) is also known as the White Lake because of salt deposits around it. It is about 45 km northwest of the Tsomoriri Lake. Tsokar is so salty that salt extracted from its margins are still sold all over Ladakh. Later, we will continue our drive and reach the Manali-Leh highway. Later, we will drive down towards Leh via Tanglang la (5415 m), the 2nd highest motorable road in Ladakh. En route, we will drive and passes through many beautiful villages of Rumptse, Gya, Miru and Lato.
    On arrival in Leh, check into the hotel for an overnight stay.

  • Day 9 - Leh – Delhi - Departure
  • In the morning after breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport to catch the flight to Delhi.
